Preparation for Aspiring Managers

As the result of innate ability, a fortunate few are able to effortlessly transition from line positions to management positions. However, most of us need to plot the path to management astutely and with deliberation. Many professionals might also become "accidental" managers, finding themselves thrust into an unplanned and perhaps unwanted managerial position for which they were not prepared.

Most entry-level positions do not call for managerial or supervisory skills. The question then is, how can you position yourself to enter successfully into a leadership, managerial, and/or supervisory role? How can you avoid the unnecessary pitfalls of the unseasoned and untried manager and develop effective leadership and managerial skills?


A threshold question is whether you have the ability and desire to be a manager. While being a successful manager does not solely rest on your people skills, coaching and advising employees and providing leadership for your unit are huge components of the job. This highly experiential 1-day workshop is designed for those individuals aspiring to management. It will equip workshop participants with the essential skills and knowledge to transition successfully from employee to manager and inspire individuals to become effective people managers in the workforce of the future.




On completion of this workshop, participants will know how to transition from employee to manager and understand the expectations and responsibilities of a manager. Workshop participants will also be able to control an increased workload and responsibility through maximizing time efficiently and prioritizing tasks effectively.
